Lighthouse Family Retreat
Lighthouse Family Retreat is a faith-based non-profit that exists to strengthen every family living through childhood cancer. Through interactive annual beach retreats, their hope is to build and develop helpful resources so that families will have much needed reprieve. Over the years, we’ve donated and delivered carts to various locations for families to utilize during the retreats. Each Summer, Lighthouse Family Retreat does an amazing job serving families at different points in their journey learning to live with a diagnosis both through faith and fun in the weeklong vacation retreat.
In partnership with several of our vendors, (E-Z-GO, Nivel Parts, Gulf Glo, LJ’s Tops and Bottoms), Panama City Golf Carts build a cart to honor all of these small Superheroes fighting big battles!
With two of our very own Mothers at heart, this cart was donated with much Love.
Supporting the Fighters, Admiring the Survivors, Honoring the Taken, and Never Ever Giving up Hope!
Gulf Coast Children's Advocacy Center
The Gulf Coast Children’s Advocacy Center (Gulf Coast CAC) has transformed the lives of victims of child abuse and sexual violence by offering a refuge for victims and their families to cope with the terrible crimes of child abuse and sexual assault while reducing the fear and further trauma that disclosure and investigation often creates.
Each year, part of our commitment in serving our community is to partner with the Gulf Coast CAC. Whether it's donating a cart as a fundraiser for the center, or delivering needed supplies or sponsoring kids at Christmas. It's an honor to partner with this admirable group of indivduals as they are making a difference every day in the lives of every Child they help!
Hurricane Michael
October 10, 2018 will forever be a date impressed in the minds and hearts of anyone who experienced the ravage Hurricane Michael brought to Panama City Beach, Panama City, Lynn Haven, Mexico Beach, Port St Joe, the other parts of the eastern Florida Panhandle and beyond.
The category 5 storm caused catastrophic devastation for many people and businesses. Some lost trees, roofs, cars, entire homes; some lost absolutely everything. Schools and businesses closed. Countless numbers of people were displaced; families with small children slept in tent cities outside for months. Trees snapped like matchsticks; billboards reduced to ribbons of metal. Overnight, once strangers, neighbors became family reaching out to help one another - providing shelter, food, clothing, tarping roofs, cutting trees off houses, and removing debris.
Panama City Golf Carts was fortunate to receive minimal damage as were each of our staff members. We made the decision to reach out to our neighbors in need and offer help where we could. Knowing what so many of our customers experienced, and that many our fellow businesses were forced to close, we wanted to be involved in supporting our community in such desperate need.
With each anniversary of October 10th, we will be reminded of not only the devastation, but the true sense of community we experienced as we watched our areas rebuild 850 Strong!
Salvage Santa
Bay County is lucky enough to have our Very Own Santa.
Mike Jones-Retired Police Officer, Husband, Father, Grandfather, Friend, becomes 'Salvage Santa' providing bikes and toys to needy kids in Panama City and beyond. Each year for over 40 years now, Mike has spent the year repairing bikes to be able to give to children that would not normally be able to have such a gift during the holidays.
Following Hurricane Michael, knowing the need in the community was extreme, the Bay District School System partnered with Salvage Santa to divise a system that would allow families to be able to 'provide' a Christmas for their children. Toy Donations were sent in, volunteers gathered, and more than 14,000 children were given a Christmas to remember amidst the most destruction our area had ever seen.
Bringing people together, bringing joy to so many families during such a devastating time, he brought hope to an entire community!
It's an immeasurable experience - to be able to come together each year to join in Mike's efforts and spread more of the love and generosity that he has been giving for so many years already!
He very well may be the Real Santa after all!
A Friend in Need
When Carolyn Butchikas approached us to consider helping a friend in need, it took no time to say yes! We were more than glad to help in any way we could. Along with Angelo's Steak Pit, and other local businesses in Panama City Beach, we rallied around someone who was simply a name to us - but quickly became a face, then very close to our hearts! Drew Broderick is a true warrior - a bit of his journey in his own words:
Thank you Panama City Golf Carts!!
In 2018 I was diagnosed with a rare form of laryngeal cancer.
I went to over a 100 doctors and 4 University
hospitals and eventually wound up at
Massachusetts General Hospital in a clinical trial
that saved my life. I signed up for a 2 year program
doing Immunotherapy on a 21 day cycle. Almost
everything was covered by the hospital expect for
my travel expenses. That’s where Panama City Golf Carts
came in and with a partnership with Angelo’s steak
pit and donated a golf cart to help me pay for my
travel expenses. As of December 2020 I completed 35
treatments and 14 surgeries.
I haven’t had any regrowth and am living a full life again!
Thank you to everyone! Wouldn’t be here without you!!

Panama City Beach Sports Complex
Building one of the largest Sports Parks in the Southeast takes a lot of hands, and we applaud the efforts of the St. Joe Company in partnership with Visit Panama City Beach and Bay District Schools. This team not only envisioned, but brought to fruition a world class sports Complex to Panama City Beach. We support such growth and positive development which means continual improvements in our immediate community.
Panama City Golf Carts is a proud sponsor in this project - donating the first Yamaha Umax Utility cart to the complex - knowing the staff would put it to great use in not only the building and development phase, but everyday maintenance of the 13 fields, pavilions, and various buildings. We are excited to see the expansion of the Complex and enjoy the events planned for visitors coming to Panama City Beach from around the nation!
